Privacy Policy
How Power Peaks handles your data.
Power Peaks is a personal cycling power-analysis project built for a single private athlete, with an optional read-only demo mode for sharing sample data. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.
What we collect
When you connect your Strava account, Power Peaks stores:
- Strava OAuth access and refresh tokens, used to fetch your activities.
- Your cycling activities — name, date, distance, elevation, duration, and power data streams.
- Computed power metrics derived from that data (mean-maximal power curves, TSS, IF, training-load history, power zones).
- Settings you enter directly: FTP, body weight, preferred units, timezone, and AI-coach preferences.
Where it is stored
All data is stored locally in a single SQLite database on the server running Power Peaks. It is not stored in a shared cloud account, and it is not used to build any aggregate or cross-user dataset.
How it is used
Your data is used solely to display your own training analysis inside this app — activity tables, power curves, the Performance Management Chart, the planning calendar, and related views.
AI coaching features
The AI coach and the home-page training insights are powered by the Anthropic (Claude) API. To generate these, a plain-text summary of your training — such as fitness/fatigue/form values, monthly fitness history, all-time power bests, and a summary of recent rides — is sent to Anthropic for processing. No raw Strava tokens or account credentials are sent. Anthropic processes this text under its own API terms; it is not used here to train models on your data beyond what those terms allow. If you would rather not use these features, leave the AI options disabled in Settings.
Sharing
Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers or other third parties. The only external services involved are:
- Strava — the source of your activity data, accessed via the official API with your authorisation.
- Anthropic — used only when AI coaching features are enabled, as described above.
Demo mode shows an anonymised copy of the athlete's data with activity names replaced by generic labels; it is read-only and exposes no account credentials.
Strava data
Power Peaks uses Strava data in accordance with the Strava API Agreement. Activity data shown here originates from Strava. You can revoke Power Peaks' access at any time from your Strava app settings. Doing so stops further syncing; you can also request deletion of locally stored data (see below).
Deleting your data
Disconnecting via Strava revokes API access. To remove the activities, tokens, and settings stored locally in Power Peaks, contact the operator and the database records will be deleted.
Contact
Questions about this policy can be sent to the project operator. Because this is a personal project, there is no formal support desk.
